Amy FloodAmy Flood is the Vice President of Public Affairs for Gilead Sciences, Inc. She joined Gilead’s corporate communications department in January 2000 to manage product communications for the launch of the company’s first product for HIV. She was appointed vice president of public affairs in February 2010, and in this role is responsible for corporate and product communications supporting the company’s business and leading brands, health policy communications and advocacy, and corporate giving programs. She is a member of the board of directors of the Gilead Foundation, a separate not-for-profit entity funded by Gilead Sciences, Inc.
Prior to joining Gilead, Flood worked with Noonan/Russo Communications, a healthcare public relations agency. She relocated from New York to San Francisco to help establish the firm’s West Coast operations in 1998. Her agency-based work in New York focused primarily on raising awareness about research programs and products for biotechnology, pharmaceutical and not-for-profit clients. She began her career in non-profit development, working in the field of women’s and children’s health.

Flood is a member of the Arthur Page Society, a professional public relations organization, and a communications advisor to the National Search Dog Foundation. She is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University and a member of the Second Decade Society alumni group, serving on the undergraduate student scholarship committee.
