Randall Russell has served in the HIV community for 30 years as a volunteer, a leader of AIDS Service Organizations, an advocate, and a technical assistance provider for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Ryan White program, and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) special needs housing program. He has also served as founder of multiple organizations including: the Southern AIDS Coalition, The Professional Association of Social Work in HIV and AIDS (PASHWA), Collaborative Solutions – a national Housing Technical Assistance agency, and served as President of the National AIDS Housing Coalition 1996-1998 (NAHC).

Lifelong’s mission is to empower persons living with HIV and/or other chronic illnesses to lead healthier lives. To address this newly expanded mission statement, Lifelong has launched:
A statewide advocacy association to focus on HIV – Washington HIV/AIDS Community Advocacy Network (WHACAN); A joint venture with all AIDS Service Organizations in the State to provide care coordination services for Health Homes with more than 3,000 non-HIV lives from various Medicaid Managed Care Organizations – WAcare; Capacity development to expand the existing Chicken Soup Brigade medical nutrition therapy program through a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation challenge grant to triple meal and grocery bag production to 450,000 meals per year for a wide variety of chronic illnesses with medically appropriate and delicious food; A county-wide HIV housing lead agency designation for Lifelong to sustain and grow HIV-dedicated units; The Lifelong Housing Safety Net program to serve persons with chronic illness who suffered foreclosures to stabilize housing and health in 13 counties in Washington State through a grant from the Attorney General’s office.
