Celebrating 10 years

Ten years ago AIDS Action merged with the National AIDS Fund to form AIDS United. Continuing the hard work that had started in the 1980s, AIDS United set out to strengthen the health, well-being and human rights of those living with or vulnerable to HIV.

The mission of AIDS United is to end the HIV epidemic in the United States.

Our path has been directed by the voices of those living with HIV and by community-driven actions from disproportionately affected populations, including gay and bisexual men, communities of color, women and people living in the Deep South. We have directly funded more than $104 million in grants to community initiatives and leveraged more than $117 million in additional investments for care access, harm reduction, capacity building, prevention, policy and advocacy.

Our policy team in Washington, D.C., informed by our Public Policy Council, gathers and leads the HIV field.

Where your money goes:

90% of every dollar supports our policy and advocacy, leadership, development, capacity-building and grant making programs.

You can make your AIDS United 10th Anniversary gift – or any gift! – a Memorial or a Commemoration via our Honor Garden.
