AIDS United hosts HIV advocacy fireside chat: Insights from Carl Baloney Jr. and Robert Suttle

January 7, 2025, Washington, D.C. – AIDS United is proud to announce the successful conclusion of the fireside chat, “The Future of HIV Advocacy: Visionary Pathways for the Next Administration, featuring Carl Baloney Jr., Vice President for Public Affairs and Chief Policy Officer at AIDS United, and Robert Suttle, the celebrated HIV and social justice champion.

Held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, via AIDS United’s various social media channels, the conversation offered an in-depth exploration of the evolving landscape of HIV advocacy, actionable strategies for driving change in 2025, and the importance of cultivating a new generation of leaders committed to equity, justice, and unity in the fight to end the HIV epidemic.

During the fireside chat, Baloney and Suttle shared their perspectives and reflections, covering a range of critical topics, including the shifting landscape of HIV advocacy concerning HIV prevention, care and treatment over the past decade; strategic approaches for navigating the future political environment and sustaining progress; the role of grassroots efforts, such as AIDSWatch, in empowering new HIV champions and advancing advocacy and opportunities to share their perspective and story; the evolving intersection of racial justice and HIV advocacy in creating an inclusive and impactful movement, regardless of HIV status.
