AIDS United, with continued funding support from ViiV Healthcare Inc., is pleased to announce the opportunity for grant support through the Conexiones Positivas/Positive Connections initiative. We anticipate making six to eight grant awards that will range from $10,000 to $25,000 per award for an eight-month project period.

Funding will prioritize organizations serving and advocating for people living with and vulnerable to HIV from Latinx communities of gay and bisexual men and men of transgender experience. Organizations must demonstrate reach within these communities, with the goal of reducing isolation by increasing engagement and support among peers.

Applicants should also build in networking opportunities for innovations to improve access to health services, which should focus on increasing leadership development of people living with HIV, empowering them to be local and nation advocates for their communities. Activities must be predicated on the meaningful involvement of people living with HIV principles, or MIPA.

AIDS United will fund projects that will accomplish some or all the following:

  • Enhance the investment in and strengthen the networks, leadership and support efforts in Latinx communities of gay, bisexual and trans men to educate and lessen stigma regarding HIV.
  • Build the capacity of funded organizations through culturally humble, competent and linguistically accessible technical assistance.
  • Support enhancement of local community networks, as well as leverage national partnerships to support connection and lessen isolation.
  • Expand advocacy efforts, education efforts and stigma reduction based on their local, state and federal needs that impact People living with HIV, through community identified approaches.
