As of January 2021, our strategic grantmaking initiatives have directly funded more than $160 million to local communities, and we have leveraged more than $184 million in additional investments for programs that include, but are not limited to HIV prevention, care, advocacy and syringe access programs.

Rapid Response Technical Assistance Program

The Sector Transformation Initiative Portfolio (STP) is designed to strengthen HIV service organizations as they navigate a national contraction of funding and increasing political hostility. The initiative supports organizations in adapting, thriving, and continuing to meet the needs of the communities they serve.

Organizations may apply to receive technical assistance at one of the following three levels

Level 1 – Open Access Resources (No application required)

Available to all organizations beginning August 1 on the AIDS United website:

  • Access to self-guided, online resources, including AIDS United University courses hosted on the Thinkific platform

  • Exclusive early access to new tools and resource launches

Level 2 – (Application Required) Time-Limited Technical Assistance

  • 3–5 hours of time-limited TA via phone or email with Sector Transformation staff

  • Support for targeted challenges related to leadership, operations, or proposal writing

  • Referral to members of our TA Community Support Network, when appropriate

  • Full access to all Level 1 resources

Level 3 – Intensive Technical Assistance + Micro-Grant

  • $15,000 micro-grant to support staff time dedicated to organizational transformation

  • A dedicated TA liaison to coordinate and deliver responsive support

  • Customized resource and training development tailored to your organization’s needs

  • Required engagement from C-suite leadership and the Board of Directors

  • Full access to all Level 1 resources
