AIDSWatch, hosted by AIDS United in partnership with the U.S. People Living with HIV Caucus and the Center for Health Law and Policy Innovation at Harvard University, is the largest and oldest constituent-led national HIV advocacy event in the country. However, with recognition from HIV advocates across the country that efforts to end the HIV epidemic cannot be achieved through federal action alone, AIDS United launched AIDSWatch@Home.

AIDSWatch@Home programs are state-based policy trainings and community advocacy institutes grounded in the knowledge that state and local advocacy is a remarkably powerful and underutilized tool. The need for state-level advocacy has only become more urgent in recent years as state legislatures and others have promoted policies to restrict LGBTQ+ rights and threaten progress in reaching an end to the HIV epidemic. Simultaneously, federal programs and funding streams are being reduced or eliminated, including programs focused on eliminating disparities, and gaining access to healthcare will become more challenging. These policy attacks take many forms, and our advocacy will require us to work across issue areas and unite coalitions to protect our communities.
